Grace has more than 30 years’ experience in Chinese language teaching, class management, academic administration and educational research. Her professional qualifications include Senior Primary School Teacher, Internationally Certified Senior Chinese Language Teacher and National Level II Psychological Counsellor.
Grace has led and participated in provincial and municipal research projects, published papers in leading education journals and received district awards as an Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Researcher. Having taught the full Primary Chinese curriculum from Grades 1–6, she has a detailed understanding of progression across each stage. Grace combines rigorous subject teaching with purposeful inquiry and project-based learning, enabling students to think deeply, apply their knowledge and develop confident, expressive Chinese.
Camille Huang
Chinese Language Associate Coordinator & Chinese Language Dept. Secretary
Camille has more than 9 years’ experience teaching Chinese in China, Thailand, Spain and the UK. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and a master’s degree in Chinese International Education from Jinan University.
During her studies, Camille completed placements in Thailand and at the University of Salamanca in Spain. She later taught at the Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield and was recognised as an Outstanding Government-sponsored Chinese Teacher in 2020. Camille holds Senior Secondary School Chinese and International Chinese Language teaching certificates, as well as Level 2A Mandarin proficiency. Her international experience informs an open and culturally responsive approach that develops students’ language skills, independence and appreciation of Chinese culture.
Vera He
Chinese Language Associate Coordinator
Vera has nearly 10 years’ experience teaching Chinese. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Guangxi Normal University and a master’s degree in Chinese International Education from Jinan University, together with a Senior Secondary School Chinese Teaching Certificate.
As a volunteer Chinese teacher, Vera taught in South Korea and Thailand and organised traditional Chinese cultural activities for students and teachers. She has also taught Chinese at South China Agricultural University and joined ISA Tianhe in 2018. Vera has completed professional development in the IB PYP, concept-based learning and classroom practice. She encourages students to think actively, investigate ideas and apply their learning through varied and purposeful lessons.
Vera also continuously improves her professional knowledge and skills through attending various kinds of learning workshops. She encourages students to think actively, inquire and practice through diversified classes.
Amy Li
Chinese Language Teacher
Amy has 29 years’ experience in education and has been a member of the ISA Tianhe founding team since 2015. She holds a degree in Chinese Language and Literature Education and previously worked as a Level I Chinese teacher in public schools.
Amy has a strong understanding of Chinese language development and interdisciplinary curriculum design. She is particularly skilled at creating meaningful connections between learning and children’s everyday lives, enabling students to understand and use language in authentic contexts. Her Early Years teaching draws on stories, picture books, songs and performance to develop listening, speaking, early literacy and effective learning habits. Amy’s lively and varied classroom practice makes Chinese accessible, relevant and enjoyable.
Amy's classroom is dynamic and diverse. Her current teaching focuses on the early years, and her teaching strategies include using stories, picture books, children's songs, and performances to foster good learning skills and naturally develop students' language skills.
Yuki Yu
Chinese Language Teacher
Yuki holds a master’s degree in Chinese International Education from Guangzhou University, together with Chinese national and international Chinese language teaching certificates. She has more than 10 years’ experience in education and joined ISA Tianhe in 2018.
Yuki is also a qualified instructor in Classical Chinese Studies and has extensive experience guiding children and parents through texts including the I Ching, Tao Te Ching, Great Learning, Doctrine of the Mean and The Art of War. Her knowledge of classical literature, educational psychology and family education enriches her classroom teaching. Yuki uses varied and accessible approaches to stimulate interest, develop understanding and help students experience both the intellectual depth and enjoyment of learning Chinese.
Angel Jiang
Chinese Language Teacher
Angel holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from South China Normal University. She is a certified Level I teacher and holds teaching qualifications in Senior Secondary Chinese, Junior Secondary English and Primary Chinese.
Angel has extensive experience in both public and international schools. Her strong subject knowledge spans Chinese language, literature, handwriting, poetry recitation and composition. Students under her guidance have achieved success in writing, poetry and calligraphy competitions. Angel combines patience and warmth with high expectations for character, academic achievement and written presentation. She believes that thoughtful teaching and a rich reading culture help children develop both strong Chinese language skills and a lasting appreciation of literature.
Brown Xiong
Chinese Language Teacher
Brown has more than 30 years’ experience in education and holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature Education. Before joining ISA Tianhe in 2015, he taught Chinese to upper Primary and Middle School students in Chinese schools.
Brown combines rigorous subject teaching with a lively and engaging classroom style. He uses varied strategies to establish meaningful contexts, develop language knowledge and encourage students to express ideas with confidence and creativity. Students under his guidance have received awards in international Chinese language arts events, Chinese festivals and national writing competitions. Brown places mutual respect at the centre of teaching and helps students develop the knowledge, skills and expressive ability required for high-level Chinese learning.
Olivia Hu
Chinese Language Teacher
Olivia holds a master’s degree in Chinese International Education from Anhui University, together with Senior Secondary Chinese and International Chinese Language teaching certificates. She joined ISA Tianhe in 2021.
Olivia was selected by the Ministry of Education’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation to teach at the Confucius Institute at Baku State University in Azerbaijan. She has taught learners ranging from young children to adults and understands how Chinese language development varies across ages and proficiency levels. Olivia has completed IB PYP and inquiry-based teaching professional development and also holds a Senior Tea Art Specialist Certificate. Her lessons combine clear progression, cultural knowledge and engaging practice to create an efficient and enjoyable learning environment.
Jessie He
Chinese Language Teacher
Jessie has extensive experience teaching both Chinese mother-tongue students and learners of Chinese as an additional language in bilingual schools. She holds an International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate and a Positive Discipline Educator Certificate.
Jessie has received awards in Chinese teaching case, international Chinese micro-lesson and young teacher lesson competitions. She has also published education papers in national journals and completed IB PYP professional development at East China Normal University. Her teaching combines rigorous subject knowledge, evidence-informed practice and a strong understanding of individual learners. Jessie uses clear explanations and carefully selected approaches to help students develop secure knowledge, confidence and sustained progress in Chinese.
